AIFD WAT 2018- Army Institute of Fashion and Design

AIFD WAT 2018 is an entrance exam for admission in B.Sc. Fashion and Apparel Design in Army Institute of Fashion and Design, Bangalore. The institute is affiliated to Bangalore University. It is 3 years undergraduate course and is for admission to the wards of Army personnel. Army Institute of Fashion and Design is for the children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex-Army personnel, and wards of war widows/widows of the Army. AIFD WAT 2018 Dates

Academic Qualification: The applicant must have passed 10+2 / Equivalent examination in any Combination with a minimum of 35% aggregate marks from recognised boards by UGC / university.

The children of following categories of Army personnel are eligible:

• Serving Army personnel: Serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years continuous service in the Army.
• Ex-Army personnel: The children of ex-Army personnel are also eligible. The following categories fall under ex-Army.
  • Personnel granted/awarded regular pension, liberalised family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board / invalided medical board. This includes wards of recruits medically boarded out and granted disability pension.
  • Medical officers/ Army Dental Corps officers presently serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force who have served with the Army for 10 years.
• Adopted child: Adopted child of Army personnel if adopted at least five years before seeking admission.
• Step children: Step children are eligible provided they are born from a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army.
• APS personnel: The children of APS personnel are eligible to B.Sc. Fashion and Apparel Design course. The APS personnel must classify under the following category.
  
  • Personnel classified as ex-servicemen as per Govt of India, Ministry of Defence letter No 9 (52)/88/D (Res) dated 19 Jul 89.
  • Personnel who are on deputation and who have put in 10 years of service in the Army.
  • Personnel, who are directly recruited into APS who have completed 10 years of service and of those who as per their terms and conditions of service, retired from APS without reversion to P&T Department after completing their minimum pensionable service of which 10 years was in the Army.
• Members of MNS who have 10 years service as regular members of MNS or receive the pension from the Army.
• TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service.

Physical Fitness: Candidates should have been certified by MH /RMO/ Registered Medical Practitioner as physically and mentally fit to pursue the course. At the time of admission, the candidates are required to submit the Certificate.

The candidates are advised to fill the required details in every section of the form and to check the details of the application form before the final submission because once the application gets submitted then the candidates will not be able to do any changes.

AIFD WAT Admit Card

AIFD WAT Admit Card will be Available from 31 March 2018 onwards. The admit card will be available on the official website only for those eligible candidates who have submitted their duly filled application forms before the due date.

Application Fee: The application fee to be submitted with the last fee and without last fee are given in the table below.

AIFD Bangalore 2018 Fee Structure

The fee structure given in the table below is for the B.Sc. (Fashion & Apparel Design) Course offered by AIFD Bangalore. Candidates can check the fee amount for the particular category of the fees.

Fees for the year 2018-19 is under revision. There may be an increase of 10% on the above fee. Till then candidates can take a look at the last year fee structure.

AIFD WAT 2018 Result will get declared on 8 May 2018 and will be put up on the AIFD website and will also be displayed at AIFD Bangalore, college notice board. Candidates declared to have passed WAT will also be individually informed by AIFD Bangalore.

The shortlisted students will be required to pay the Course registration fee of Rs.10,000 & Rs 5,000 for hostel through a Crossed Demand Draft in favour of “Army Institute of Fashion & Design” payable at Bangalore on or before 22 May 2018.

• Final List of Selection: After the receipt of registration fee from the willing candidates, the final list of UG admission will be announced on the Institute website on 24 May 2018. As the final list of the selected students get announced, the same will be updated on this page.
  

AIFD WAT 2018 Selection Process Dates

Candidates are required to submit the original copy of all the following documents:

• Migration Certificate
• Transfer Certificate
• Character Certificate

Weightage to Gallantry Award Winners in AIFD Admission

Weightage in Admissions will be given to the children of the Gallantry Award Winners as follows:

Distinguished Service in War/ Conflict/ Hostilities

Before the preparation of overall merit list, the above-mentioned percentage of the respective gallantry award winner’s ward’s WAT score will be added to his/ her actual WAT score.

Duration: 3 hours

Total Marks:100 marks

Type and Language of the Test: Objective type test in The English language.

Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking.

Questions will be objective type and answers have to be marked using ball point pen only. The test will have the following components:

• Intelligence and Reasoning Test.
• General Awareness Test.
• English Language Competency & Comprehension Test. (including short essay)

AIFD 2018 Exam Centres

The candidate has an option to select 3 test centres while filling up the application form. As far as possible, the examination centres will be allotted to the candidates as per their first/ second choice. 

The organisers have a right to allot any other test centre to the candidate which is closer to the candidate’s first/second choice.
