KVPY Eligibility 2021: Check Stream Wise KVPY Exam Eligibility

KVPY Eligibility 2021 for SA, SX and SB Stream for candidates who want to apply for KVPY 2021 is given in this article. Only candidates who meet KVPY eligibility criteria 2021 can apply for the KVPY exam. On 11 May 2021, the official notification was released and it provided the KVPY 2021 eligibility criteria for Stream SA, SX, and SB. Students of Class 11, Class 12 or First Year of any undergraduate program in Basic Sciences, such as B.Sc, B.S, B.Stat, B.Math, Int. M.Sc or Int. M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology are eligible for the KVPY exam which will be held on 7 November 2021. KVPY Application forms are available online and the last date to apply for KVPY 2021 is 25 August. Candidates are advised to fill the application form before the due date. The selected students under KVPY will get monthly fellowship and annual contingency grants up to the Pre-PhD level. What are Stream SA, SX and SB in KVPY Eligibility?
There are 3 streams under which KVPY is conducted, which are - 

• Stream SA: The students studying in class 11 (Science Subjects) have to choose Stream SA while appearing for KVPY Exam 2021
• Stream SX: The students studying in class 12 (Science Subjects) have to choose Stream SX while appearing for KVPY Exam 2021
• Stream SB: The students studying in the first year of any undergraduate program in Basic Sciences, B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology have to choose Stream SB while appearing for KVPY Exam 2021

KVPY Eligibility Criteria 2021 - Stream SA, SX and SB

Students appearing for KVPY 2021 can check the KVPY eligibility criteria for stream SA, SX ad SB from the points given below. Candidates will be disqualified if they don't fulfil the eligibility for KVPY exam.

KVPY Eligibility SA - Class 11 Students

Candidates studying in Class 11 can check KVPY Eligibility SA from the given points:

• Students must be enrolled in Class 11 (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2021-22
• They must have secured at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST/PWD) aggregate in Mathematics and Science in class 10 board exams
• They must have secured a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD) aggregate in Science subjects in the Class 12 Board Exam
• They should join an undergraduate course in Basic Sciences (B.Sc./ B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./ Int. M.Sc./M.S.) after class 12 during the academic year 2020-21

KVPY Eligibility SX - Class 12 Students

Candidates studying in Class 12 can check KVPY Eligibility SX from the points given below:

• Students must be enrolled in Class 12 (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2021-19
• They must have secured at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST/PWD) aggregate in Mathematics and Science in class 10 board Exams
• The students must have secured at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD) in aggregate in Science subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the Class 12 Board Exam
• They should join an undergraduate course in Basic Sciences (B.Sc./B.S./ B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S.) after class 12 during the academic year 2019-20

KVPY Eligibility SB - 1st Year Students

Candidates studying in 1st year of an undergraduate program can check KVPY Eligibility SB from the points given below:

• Students must have enrolled in the first year of any undergraduate program in Basic Sciences (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S.) during the academic year 2021-22
• They must have secured a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD) aggregate in Science subjects in Class 12 board exams
• They must secure a minimum of 60% marks ((50% for SC/ST/PWD) in the 1st year final examination of B.Sc./B.S./B.Math./B.Stat./Int. M.Sc./M.S. before taking up the fellowship.

KVPY Eligibility FAQs

• I appeared in KVPY in Class 11. Can I appear again in KVPY in Class 12?
  • Yes, you can appear again in KVPY in Class 12 as far as you meet the eligibility criteria for KVPY SX Stream which is for Class 12 students.
• Is every student selected for KVPY scholarship eligible for IISER?
  • Yes, every student selected for KVPY scholarship is eligible for IISER. However, the admission depends on the availability of seats and KVPY merit.
• Can droppers of IIT JEE /NEET preparation take the KVPY Exam?
  • KVPY Eligibility for Droppers- No, you can only appear in KVPY if you are enrolled in Class 11, 12 or first year of undergraduate course in basic science during the academic year 2021-19. All those students who have passed class 12 but have not taken admission in any course are not eligible for the KVPY Exam. 
• I am in B.Tech first year. Am I eligible for the KVPY scholarship?
  • No, you are not eligible for the KVPY Scholarship. The students enrolled in basic sciences (B.Sc./ B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./ Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S.) are eligible for KVPY.

Fill KVPY Application 2021 if you meet KVPY Exam Eligibility

KVPY Application Forms is available from 12July 2021. Students who meet the KVPY exam eligibility 2021 can apply for KVPY. The students can only apply for KVPY 2021 through online mode. Candidates will have to register online, fill all the details, upload documents and pay the application fees. Candidates should have scanned copy of the following things:

• Photograph
• Signature
• Caste / Disability certificate as applicable

The KVPY application fee is Rs. 1250 for General and OBC candidates and Rs. 650 for SC and ST Candidates.

KVPY 2021 Fellowships Offered

Candidates who are selected as a KVPY Fellow will get the KVPY 2021 Scholarship after class 12 up to Pre-Ph.D. level. As per the KVPY Eligibility, students have to join basic science course (B Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. MSc./ Int. M.S.) after class 12th. The scholarship amount offered to KVPY Fellows is given below:

• For 1st to 3rd year, you will get Rs. 5000 monthly and an annual Contingency grant of Rs. 20,000.
• During the 4th and 5th year, you will get Rs. 7000 monthly and an annual Contingency grant of Rs. 28,000.
