About Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Contest
- Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat is a Government of India initiative announced on October 31, 2015, on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary.
- The initiative aims to increase the cultural exchange between various parts of the country and enhance the interaction between people living in different states of the country.
- The theme of Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat Contest: The participants should give their ideas in Maximum 1000 words about ‘How the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme should be structured so as to encapsulate its true spirit in all its various dimensions and capture the diversity that characterizes India’. Some of the indicative themes to help candidates are:
- Documentation of success stories.
- Specifying the Use of modern communication tools, including social media.
- Coming up with ideas to improve the collaboration between the governments, civil society and the private sector.
- Defining responsibilities of Central as well as State Government to ensure smooth functionality of the Program.
- Making 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' a people's movement so that people participate in it at their own rather than joining it just for formality.
- Eligibility: Citizens of India above the age of 18 can participate in Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat contest, contributing their ideas for the amelioration of India and its culture by the means of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative.
- Prize: The winners of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat contest will get rewarded by Prime Minister of India with cash prizes worth Rs. 2.25 lakh.
- Participation: The participation is by the means of MyGov platform, where candidates can submit their entries in PDF form.
- The last date to participate in the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Contest is November 30, 2015. (Extended to December 25, 2015)

- Nationality: The contest is open for Citizen of India and registered users of MyGov.
- Age: There is no restriction on the upper age limit but at the candidate needs to be at least 18 years old on November 01, 2015 to participate in the contest.
- Participation: Only Individual entries will be accepted for the contest, group entries will not be accepted.

Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Contest Rewards
Prime Minister of India will award 3 winners with certificate by along with cash prize. The details related to the cash prize are:
- First Prize: The winner of the first prize will be awarded with cash prize worth Rs. 1 lakh.
- Second Prize: Cash Prize worth Rs. 75,000 will be rewarded to the winner of Second Prize.
- Third Prize: Winner of Third Prize will get cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

The applications for the contest are to be made online and using MyGov platform. The details related to the contest and its application processes are:
- Participation: In order to participate in the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Contest, candidates are required to register on MyGov platform and complete their profile by providing all the required details.
- Details of the Submission: The submission of the entry is to be done in PDF format and through MyGov platform only; no other submission method will be accepted. Candidates can write the summary of their entry in comment section.

The winner of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Contest will be selected on the following basis:
- The evaluation of the submission will be based upon the originality & innovation of the idea, scope of its implementation, extent of cultural exchange involved and the use of modern communication tools in the idea.
- Combination of originality and detailed explanation can give an entry upper hand over the other entries.
The aim of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat contest is to connect 2 states reciprocal basis with each other, highlighting each other’s technology, culture and specialties by the means of tours, book festivals, food festivals etc.
