BIT Mesra Admission 2018 - Eligibility for UG Courses

The applicant can check the eligibility criteria for the admission to various UG Courses offered at BIT Mesra given below. Applicants must follow a specific Age Criteria common to all candidates seeking admission to UG courses:

• Candidates whose date of birth falls after October 1, 1992, and in the case of SC/ST/PwD date of birth must fall on or after October 1, 1987, are eligible to apply

BIT Mesra Academic Qualifications For B.E/B.Tech

• Candidate must have passed the final examination of class 12 or equivalent examination.
• Candidates must have scored at least 45% marks in class 12^th with Language, Physics, Mathematics, Any one of (Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational subject), any other Subject
• SC/ST/PwD candidates need to score at least 40% in each of the subjects
• The candidate must have appeared in JEE(Main) 2018 and must have scored a valid overall All India Rank in JEE (Main) 2018.

Qualifying Exam: JEE Main Paper 1 for B.E / B.Tech

• Candidate must have passed the final examination of class 12 or equivalent examination.
• Candidates must have scored 50% aggregate in class 12^th with Language, Physics, Mathematics, Any one of (Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational subject), Any other subject.
• From the total of five subjects, Mathematics is compulsory

Qualifying Exam: JEE Main Paper 2 for B.Arch

BIT Mesra Academic Qualifications For B.Pharm

• Candidate must have passed the final examination of class 12 or equivalent qualifying examination
• Candidates must have appeared in JEE Main or NEET-UG
• Candidates must have passed in English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology / Biotechnology in Class 12 / I.Sc. or Equivalent Qualifying Examination with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD)
• Marks in Class 12 to be computed as an average of following 4 subjects - English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / Biology / Biotechnology.

Qualifying Exam: JEE Main 2018 or NEET-UG 2018

BIT Mesra Academic Qualification For BHMCT

• Candidate must have passed the final examination of class 12 or equivalent examination.
• Candidates must have scored at least 45% marks in class 12th in required subjects
• SC/ST/PwD candidates need to score at least 40% marks in class 12th.

Qualifying Exam: A candidate needs to qualify the institute's entrance exam.

BIT Mesra Eligibility Criteria for OBC Students

• OBC Candidates Admission in BIT Deogarh Campus: BC-I / BC-II of Jharkhand State for admission at BIT Deoghar Campus must have passed their qualifying exam from the State of Jharkhand and should be BC-I / BC-II of Jharkhand State only. A certificate should have been issued on or after 1 st April 2016.
• OBC Candidates Admission in BIT Patna Campus: BC-I / BC-II of Bihar State for admission at BIT Patna Campus must have passed their qualifying exam from the State of Bihar and should be BC-I /BC-II/ BC Girls of Bihar State only. A certificate should have been issued on or after 1st April 2016.
• Candidate must have adequate proficiency in written & spoken English to cope with the programme as all instructions and examinations will be in English only.

BIT Mesra Admission 2018 - Application Process

To apply for the BE/ BTech/ BArch programmes, eligible candidates must complete and submit the application form online only. Candidates can fill the application form for various courses on the official website of BIT Mesra or by following the link given below this page. The instructions to fill the application form is given below.

• Candidates have to register on the official website of BIT Mesra by clicking “New User Registration.”
• After registration, candidates will get login credentials i.e login ID and password
• Candidates have to log in to the portal using their login ID and password.
• The candidates are required to fill the application form with their credentials and personal details.
• The candidates need to fill the educational records in which they need to mention the following:
  • Percentage of marks in Class 10th and Class 12^th
  • JEE-Main / NEET-UG details
• After filling the complete form, the candidate will be prompted to “Save for Later” before they click on the “Generate Application Number” button. Candidates will have the option to save the form to a maximum of only three times.
• A recent passport size photograph is to be uploaded by candidates which should be not more than 5 kb.
• Please ensure that all fields are correctly and carefully filled in before you finally click on the “Final Application Submission” button.

• Pass Certificate of Class 10 (Age proof)

BIT Mesra Admission 2018 - Payment of Application Fee

Pay the application fee (General / OBC candidates) or (SC/ST candidates) through State Bank Collect - Net Banking or Debit/Credit card of any nationalised bank in favour of “Birla Institute of Technology” within the given time period.

• Candidates have to use separate application form if they are applying for both B.E. and B.Arch programmes and also have to pay an additional application fee.
• Candidates can fill the BIT Patna Campus only for admissions in B.Arch Course.

Transaction Reference number required after the online payment is given on the top of the payment slip generated. Click "Final Application Submission".

• Take the printout of the application which will be required at the time of admission or counselling

Submission of BIT Mesra B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch Admission Form

Candidates are advised to ensure that all information provided is correct and accurate. Admission on false information and certificate will be ipso facto null and void and also punishable under the various provision of Indian Penal Code. The candidates also need to keep at least two printouts of application form for future reference.

BIT Mesra Admission 2018 Result

BIT Mesra Result will be declared by the Birla Institute of Technology after the exam or counselling whichever is applicable. The website will release the answer key and BIT Mesra Merit Lists after few weeks of the release of answer key. The Institute will prepare the BIT Merit list on the basis of the result and the selected candidates will be called for further selection process

BIT Mesra Selection Process for Bachelor of Pharmacy

Selections of the candidates will be made on the basis of merit that will be drawn by giving 

• 60% weightage to JEE Main / NEET-UG Score of total marks obtained
• 40% weightage to academic performance (marks in Class 12 / equivalent qualifying examination)

BIT Mesra Selection Process for Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology

The selection of the candidate for the course Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) will be done on the basis of the performance in the Entrance test conducted by the Institute. Applicants are shortlisted for the admission on the basis of the scores of the entrance test.
